GoalBar FAQ and troubleshooting

Clear answers and practical steps for setup, shipping messages, product notifications, WhatsApp, plans and analytics.

Getting started

What does GoalBar do?

GoalBar adds shipping-goal messages, announcement bars, product discovery popups, browser-tab reminders and WhatsApp help to your Shopify storefront. You choose the tools, messages and placement. Available controls depend on the permissions shown on your current Plans page.

How do I set up GoalBar for the first time?

Open GoalBar from Shopify admin. Start with Shipping goal, Announcement or WhatsApp help. Enter your settings and choose Save & publish. Open Theme setup, enable the GoalBar app embed in the theme you use, and save the theme. Check a product and cart page on desktop and mobile.

Do I have to change my theme code?

The theme app embed does not require manual theme code edits. Product and cart placement depends on the theme form structure. If a card is missing in a custom theme, send support the theme name and affected page link rather than editing code blindly.

How can I save a small change without completing every step?

Use Save & publish from the editor. In the WhatsApp and Product Notifications editors the button is available on every step. A required field in another step can still need correction before saving. Wait for the publishing result before leaving the page.

Publishing and theme setup

Why are my saved changes missing from the store?

First check the editor publishing status. Publishing pending means the current settings may not have reached Shopify. Reopen the editor and save/publish again. Then confirm the GoalBar app embed is enabled in the same theme you are viewing and save the theme. Reload the storefront and check page/device targeting, schedule and feature permissions.

Does Published mean the feature is visible on every page?

Published means the configuration write to Shopify succeeded. It does not verify that the theme embed is enabled or that targeting permits every page. Use Theme setup and test the actual pages where the feature should appear.

Why does the live card differ from the preview?

Compare the same cart state, placement and device first. Empty cart, below goal and goal reached use different messages. Publish your latest design, confirm the correct theme, and check whether plan permissions limit a selected icon or background. Your theme still controls surrounding product content.

Why is the shipping card missing below Add to cart?

Enable product placement, save/publish and enable the app embed. The card needs a recognizable product add-to-cart form. Test a standard product page. If only a custom product template fails, share its link and theme name with support.

Why do I see duplicate or overlapping widgets?

Check whether both an app embed and a separately added app block are displaying the same feature. Keep one placement where appropriate. Also check other announcement/chat apps and sticky checkout controls. Test a narrow mobile screen after adjusting placement.

Shipping goals and design

Does GoalBar create a free-shipping rate?

No. Set a matching free-shipping rate and conditions in Shopify shipping settings. GoalBar displays progress; Shopify determines shipping charges at checkout. Test the offer with the intended market, currency, products and shipping destination.

When does Free shipping available change to the success message?

An empty cart shows your starting message. A cart below the goal shows remaining progress. Reaching the configured final target shows your success message. A shopper who already has qualifying items can see success immediately, even when the admin preview is set to Empty cart.

How should I choose a shipping threshold?

Choose a threshold your store can support after shipping costs and product margins. Configure the matching Shopify rate, then test a cart just below, exactly at and above that threshold. Avoid advertising a shipping offer that checkout does not honor.

How do I change the truck icon and its color?

In Campaign builder choose a shipping message icon and use Truck color in Design. The six vector truck styles support color changes; legacy Classic truck and Green delivery keep their artwork colors. Save/publish and check product/cart placement. Your plan permissions may limit publishing icons.

Where are colors and background images?

Open the Design step. Colors and background designs are expanded by default. Header backgrounds apply to the announcement strip; the shipping card uses its own background, text and progress colors. Select the matching preview placement to check each design before publishing.

Why is a countdown or announcement not shown inside my shipping card?

The product/cart shipping card focuses on the shipping goal, icon and progress. Announcement text, promotional buttons and timers belong to the header strip. Preview Top of page to inspect that separate placement.

WhatsApp and shopper help

Does the WhatsApp chat window send messages inside GoalBar?

No. The panel lets shoppers prepare a message and continue to WhatsApp. The shopper reviews and sends it there. GoalBar is not a live inbox and does not confirm that a message was sent.

Why does my WhatsApp link not open correctly?

Enter the full international phone number with country code and verify it is registered with WhatsApp. Save/publish, then test the link on a phone and desktop browser. Browser/app availability can affect how WhatsApp opens.

How do I adjust the chat height or button size?

Use the chat appearance controls available to your plan. Save/publish and reload the storefront. The window is capped to fit the shopper viewport, so a very tall value will be smaller on a short phone screen. Check that the composer and close button remain accessible.

What do business hours mean?

Business hours show your configured reply schedule using the selected timezone and working days. They do not track live staff availability. Check overnight hours and weekends in the preview before publishing.

Why is Quick Help shown instead of the separate WhatsApp launcher?

Quick Help combines your enabled contact and policy links in one menu to reduce overlap. It can replace the standalone launcher. Leave unused links blank and verify the WhatsApp number and support addresses.

Does Copy code create or automatically apply a discount?

No. Create an eligible discount in Shopify and enter its existing code. Shoppers copy the code and apply it at checkout. Shopify validates dates, minimum purchase, customer eligibility, products, usage limits and combinations.

What if copying a coupon is blocked?

Use the manual-copy fallback and paste the code at checkout. If Shopify rejects the code, check its discount conditions in Shopify. GoalBar cannot bypass discount eligibility or restore an expired code.

Optional analytics

How do I enable the graphs?

On the dashboard select Enable analytics and wait for successful publishing. Enable the app embed in the theme. Activity is collected only when Shopify allows analytics processing for that visitor. Test a real storefront visit with appropriate consent, then refresh the dashboard.

Why do the graphs show zero?

Confirm tracking is enabled and published, the embed is active and the reporting period includes the visit. Consent refusal, blocked requests or network failures can prevent recording. Events are batched, so allow a short delay before refreshing. Counts are limited per browser session and campaign version.

Are cart-value totals actual revenue?

No. Cart value at goal completion records cart amounts when the target is reached. It does not confirm payment, subtract refunds or prove extra revenue caused by GoalBar. Goal rate is goals reached divided by recorded views, not purchase conversion.

What does a WhatsApp click count prove?

It records a click to continue to WhatsApp, subject to consent and session limits. It does not prove a chat message was sent or that an order followed.

Can I turn analytics off?

Yes. Select Turn off analytics and wait for publishing confirmation. New collection stops when the updated configuration reaches the storefront. Historical daily totals remain available. Graphs use UTC dates and keep currencies separate.

Plans, trials and permissions

Where do I see the current prices and included features?

Open GoalBar → Plans for the current catalog and feature comparison. Names, listed prices, trial days and feature permissions are managed by the administrator. Review the actual charge, taxes and billing terms in Shopify before approving a change.

Why does Shopify show a different plan from GoalBar?

Use Refresh plan in GoalBar to check Shopify billing. If confirmation fails, the app preserves previously recorded access. Reopen the app from Shopify and retry. Contact support with the store address and selected plan if the mismatch remains; do not share tokens.

Is the trial always 14 days?

The catalog can list a trial, commonly 14 days for paid plans, but eligibility and the actual start/end dates are confirmed by Shopify. A local setting does not extend an existing subscription. Read Shopify approval details before subscribing.

Why is a feature unavailable or a plan missing?

Check the current Plans comparison. Administrators can enable/disable plan visibility and individual permissions. A published storefront configuration must be updated after permission changes. Existing subscribers can still manage a current plan that is hidden for new selections.

How do I change or cancel my subscription?

Use Manage subscription on the Plans page and complete the action in Shopify. Review confirmation there, then refresh the app plan. Disable unwanted storefront tools as needed; hiding a widget does not itself cancel billing.

Troubleshooting and support

What should I do if an app page keeps loading?

Allow the current sign-in or billing check to finish. If it fails, use the retry/refresh option or reopen GoalBar from Shopify admin. Avoid repeatedly submitting save forms. If it persists, contact support with the page name, time, browser and screenshot.

How does the browser-tab reminder work?

Enable Title bar notification, use a short message such as Your cart is waiting, and save/publish. Add an item, keep the store tab open and switch to another tab. The reminder can include the cart count; the original title returns when you return. It does not send browser push notifications.

How do I contact the GoalBar team?

Use Contact support inside the app or email support@greatshub.com. Include your store address, theme name, affected page, expected result and reproduction steps. Remove customer data from screenshots and never include passwords, access tokens or payment details.

Product notifications

How do I set up product notifications?

Open Product notifications and follow Products, Message, Design and Display. Select a collection or handpicked products, customize the card, set placement and timing, then save and publish. Enable GoalBar in your active theme and save the theme. You can save from any step; required fields must still be valid.

Should I choose a collection or individual products?

A collection is the easiest way to keep your selection current. Shopify supplies products in collection order, considering up to 20 per page and skipping unavailable products. Handpicked selection supports up to five products. The catalog picker opens inside Shopify admin; the manual URL option is a fallback.

Where do I find my collection handle?

Open Products → Collections in Shopify admin and choose your collection. Under Search engine listing, copy the part after /collections/ in the storefront URL. For /collections/hydrogen, enter hydrogen. Do not enter the numeric ID from the admin URL. The editor includes an example image.

What does Maximum per visit mean?

Choose between 1 and 50 popup displays in a browser-tab session. The count continues across page changes and counts displays, not unique products. Closing a popup stops the sequence for that session. The first display, visible duration and gap settings control when notifications appear.

Why is a selected product not appearing?

Confirm publishing succeeded, the app embed is enabled, and the product is published and available. Check device selection, Hide on cart pages, Skip the current product and Skip cart products. The display cap or a dismissed popup can stop the sequence. A collection considers its first 20 products; try a fresh browser-tab session.

Does the popup show real recent purchases?

These are featured product cards, not paid-order notifications. Shopify supplies product titles, images and links. GoalBar does not invent customer purchases, purchase times or popularity. Use merchant-written offer text only for an actual promotion; the card does not create a discount.
